Jerry Neal Pope

Mr. Jerry Neal Pope, age 84, of Martin, TN, died Saturday, 09/15/2018, at VanAyer Manor Nursing and Rehab.

Funeral service is Thursday, September 20, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Wilbanks and Rev. Dale True officiating.  Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2018, 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, or after 9:00 A.M. Thursday until service time.

Pallbearers will be Steven Pope, Rob Shadowens, Josh Pope, Matthew Bynum, Kevin Barnes and Thurman Allen. 

Mr. Pope was retired maintenance specialist foreman at UTM; he was a member of McConnell Baptist Church; he attended Martin High School.

Mr. Pope is survived by his children; Steve Pope, South Fulton, TN, Stan Pope, Martin, TN, Tenna (Jimmy) Bynum, South Fulton, TN, and Tamera (Donald) Bowlin, Dresden, TN; his grandchildren, Steven Pope, Shaunda( Rob) Shadowens, Josh (Sara) Pope, Matthew Bynum, Tyler Bynum, Shy Anne Bowlin, Daniel Bowlin, Scott Bowlin and Leahann Bowlin; his great-grandchildren, Olivia Pope, Katie Pope, Kailey Shadowens, Jacob Shadowens, Anna Pope, Allie Pope,  Dylan Bynum, Carson Bynum, Kenzi Bowlin, Sophie Bowlin, Ella Bowlin,  Annastyn Bowlin, Emilie Ammons and Charlie Rose Ammons.

Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Allen Pope; his sisters, Ethlene Opal Milner, Norma Jean Merritt, and Bobbie Lou Mullins; and his parents, Earl Arden and Katie Vera Martin Pope.
