Mr. Jerry Glenn Rasberry,age 80, of Martin, TN, died Wednesday, 03/09/2022, at VanAyer Health & Rehabilitation center in Martin ,TN.

Born Saturday, June 28, 1941, in Newbern, TN, he was the son of the Late Thomas Ivie ands Lillye Bruce Rasberry.  Mr, Rasberry was a graduate of Trimble High School.  He owned and operated the Tastee Freez store in Martin and later worked for the Martin Police Dept., eventually achieving the rank of Captain.  His latest employment was the Martin Housing Authority from which he retired.

He married Betty Ames Rasberry of Dyersburg, TN on June 9, 1962, who survives in Martin, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Alan Rasberry, one brother, William "Bud" Rasberry, and one sister, Tommye B. Evans.  He is survived by his wife, one sister, Priscilla Jean Burkeen, of North Little Rock Ark., three children, Sherry (Jed) Smith, Lima, Oh, Tommy Rasberry, Martin, TN, and Sandy Rasberry, Erlanger, KY; six grandchildren, Morgan (Sam) Smith of Bellefontaine, OH, Brandon and Collin Rasberry, Lima, OH, Deven Nelson, Tanner and Addison Lutz, all of Erlanger, KY.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Johnson-Williams Funeral Home in Newbern, TN, with services officiated by Brother Paul Eddleman in the Chapel at 4:00 PM Friday, 03/11/2022,.  Interment will follow in Popular Grove Cemetery, Newbern, TN.  Visitation will be Friday, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Johnson Williams Funeral Home.
