Jean Oliver Vincent of Martin, Tennessee, age 98, passed away on April 12, 2025, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John Vincent. She was born on December 9, 1926, to the late Jesse and Corinne Manley Oliver of Martin, and was preceded in death by six siblings including her twin sister, June Oliver Thompson and by one grandchild.
For almost 50 years, Mrs. Vincent and her husband worked full time as owners of three John Deere dealerships in Martin, Paris, and Union City where she was Chief Financial Officer. During the 1970’s, their Martin dealership was ranked in the top ten dealerships in the country.
Mrs. Vincent was a long-term member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Grand Matron for the State of Tennessee.
She also served the organization as Grand Secretary for 23 years and was currently Grand Secretary Emeritus.
Mrs. Vincent was an avid gardener and won the Martin Beautiful Award two times. She was a member of Martin First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Vincent leaves her four children Alona (Dr. Donnie) Davis, Johnny (Micki) Vincent, Charlotte (Bob) Shelby, and Janie Mc Dermott.
She also leaves 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 10 great, great grandchildren.
