Janice Gayle Grubb Lowe, age 80, died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Brentwood Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesboro, GA after a lengthy illness.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017, 12:00 Noon at the First United Methodist Church in Martin with Rev. Sky McCracken officiating. Visitation with family and friends will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall with lunch to be provided.
Mrs. Lowe is survived by her children, Mary (Larry) Davis of Tullahoma, TN; Stephen Scott Lowe of Augusta, GA; Liz (Sky) McCracken of Jackson, TN; Andy (Dana) Lowe of Milledgeville, GA; Maggie (Thomas) McDonald of Waynesboro, GA; eight grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Davis, Matthew Davis, Ben Lowe, Sarah (Jordan) Weekes, Cameron Lowe, Spencer Lowe, Caitlin McDonald and Keegan McDonald. She is also survived by her sister, Ruby Rawls of Martin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. (Bob) Lowe in 1999, and by her parents, Neal Lester Grubb and Lula Mae Eaves Grubb.
Born and raised in Weakley County, Janice graduated from Dresden High School in 1954. Over the years she moved several times due to her husband's employment, living in Georgia, Pennsylvania, California, and then back to Tennessee, before settling in Augusta, GA, where she had resided since 1985. She was an administrative assistant, previously working at the Weakley County Home Extension Office, UT Martin, Augusta College, and most recently for H&R Block. Her hobbies included sewing, cross-stitching, traveling, and reading. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Family was important to her and she enjoyed keeping in touch with all relatives and friends.
