James T. Stephens

Mr. James T. Stephens, age 86, died Sunday at Huntingdon Health and Rehab Center in Huntingdon, TN. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 10, 2009, at the Martin Church of Christ. Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery in Sharon, TN. Visitation for Mr. Stephens will be Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Murphy Funeral Home; 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., or after 10:00 A.M. at the church on Thursday.
Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his wife Garnet Watts Stephens. He is survived by sons, Terry Stephens of Edinburg, TX and Dennis Stephens of Phoenix, AZ; half-brother, Harold David Stpehens of Ohio; half-sister, Vivian Ruth Baity of Goreville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Shannon Stephens and Capitola Beard Stephens; brother, Hubert Stephens; sister, Tommie Lou Watts. He is survived by nine grandchildren.
Mr. Stephens was retired from Weakley County Motors and a member of the Martin Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
