James Reuben Burdette, Sr.

Mr. James Reuben Burdette, Sr., age 94, of Martin, TN, died Wednesday, 01/02/2019, at his daughter's home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at  Murphy Funeral Home, Jeffery Coleman officiating, with burial to follow at East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be after 12:00 PM until service time on Saturday.

Mr. Burdette was a member of First Baptist Church; he was a WWII Navy Veteran,was formerly employed at the Atomic Energy plant in Paducah, KY., teacher at the University of Tennessee, Martin, Airport Machine Corp and county surveyor.

Mr. Burdette is survived by his daughters, Billie Sue Blythe, Martin, TN, Becky(Dennis) Coleman, Dyersburg, TN, Charlene(Larry) Windrow, Chattanooga, TN, and Beth Gilbert, Hartsville, SC.

Mr. Burdette was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Margaret Maurer Burdette, a son, James R. Burdette, Jr., a sister, Mary Jane Haley, a brother, Edwin Burdette, and his parents, Reuben Coleman and Charline Kennedy Burdette.
