James "Doc" Covington

Mr. James M. "Doc" Covington, age 93, a resident of Van Ayer Manor in Martin and a life long resident and businessman in Weakley County died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Van Ayer.
Graveside Service will be Saturday, May 10, 2014, East Side Cemetery at 1:00 P.M. Visitation will be Saturday starting at 11:00 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home.
Mr. Covington was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Copeland Covigton; his parents, Fred Covington and Lula Chappell Covington; his sister, Mary Covington Gardner. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sandy Covington of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren, Shane (Kerry) Covington of Marietta, GA and Cody (Rebecca) Covington of Atlanta, GA; one great-granddaughter, Masha Covington.
Mr. Covington was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Martin.
He was a 64 year member of Martin City Lodge #51.
