Jacqueline Ann Vowell

Jacqueline A. Vowell, age 92 of Wilbur by the Sea, Florida, died on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, FL after a short illness.

Funeral service will be Saturday, January 7, 2023, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Amanda Crice officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 Noon until service time at 2:00.

Mrs. Vowell was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John M. Vowell and her parents, Flora and Harmon Phillips.

Mrs. Vowell was born August 3, 1930 in Houston, TX, raised in Orlando, Florida.  She was a Registered Nurse and last worked at Volunteer General Hospital in Martin, TN before her retirement.  She was an avid reader and duplicate bridge player her whole life (reaching the rank of Silver Life Master) and enjoyed volunteer work for her community of Wilbur-by-the-Sea upon retirement.

She is survived by her son, Steven M. (Bonnie) Vowell and daughter, Vicki A. Vowell both of Martin; her grandsons, Riley Vincent of Wilber by the Sea, FL and John L. Vincent of Martin, TN.  She is also survived by her dear cousin, Barbara Hafner of Belair Beach, FL, who was more like a sister to her.
