Irene Hastings

Mrs. Irene Boaz Hastings, age 89, of the McConnell Community died Thursday, January 3, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral service will be Monday, January 7, 2013, at McConnell Baptist Church; 1:00 P.M. Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday at the church beginning at 11:00 A.M., two hours prior to funeral service at 1:00 P.M.

Mrs. Hastings was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Earl Hastings; two sons, Bobby Hastings and Van Ray Hastings; parents, John A. Boaz and Pattie Hill Boaz; one grandson, Jayton Arant.

Mrs. Hastings is survived by two daughters, Glenda Arant and Avonda Fabian both of the McConnell Community; four grandchildren, Brittany (Chad)Hastings Kalas of Paris, TN, Shannon (Ginger) Arant of Florida, Michael (Amanda) Bradberry of Trenton, TN and Amy Bradberry Saylors of Nashville, TN; nine great-grandchildren survive.

Mrs. Hastings was a retired registred nurse. She was the former director of nursing at the Weakley County Nursing Home. She was a member of the McConnell Baptist Church where she taught sunday school for over 70 years.
