Hugh Downen

Mr. Hugh Downen, age 87, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at his residence.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at River Hill Memorial Park in Batavia, Illinois.

Mr. Downen was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Mozel Baker Downen; his son, Larry G. Downen; his daughter, Jeanette L. Downen; his parents, Delbert Hubert Downen and Mabel Ferlene Pearce Downen.

Mr. Downen was a painter and parts manager of Aurora Truck Body in Aurora, Illinois and he worked in the Housing Department at The University of Tennessee at Martin. He was a veteran, U.S. Navy, and a member of Bible Union Baptist Church.

Mr. Downen is survived by his daughter, Beverly C. Dickenson of DeKalb, Illinois; his sister, Patsy Ann (Gene) O'Neal of Carmi, Illinois; his brother-in-law, Fred House of Martin; one grandchild, Cheryl Crutchfield; two great-grandchildren, Allie Elizabeth Crutchfield and Katherine Helynn Crutchfield.
