Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Murphy Funeral Home; 2:00 P.M. Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation for Mr. Stephens will be Tuesday, June 30, 2009, from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.
Survived by his wife, Joy Jacobs Stephens of Martin. Also, one son, Tim Stephens of Bartlett, TN; daughters, Barbara Davidson of Chicago and Donna Roost of Merritt Island, Florida. Survived by brothers, James T. Stephens of Dresden, Harold Stephens of Obion, and one sister, Vivian Baity of Illinois; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Captola Beard Stephens, and one sister, Tommie Watts. Mr. Stephens was a retired truck driver and World War II Army veteran.
