Hillis Ford Mitchell

Mrs. Hillis Ford Mitchell of Dresden, age 70, died Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Memorial Visitation will be Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Murphy Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Mitchell, Sr.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Ford; a grandson, C.J. Hazlewood; brothers, Carlos Ford, and Vanden Ford, and John Ford. She is survived by her sons, James E. (Angela) Mitchell, Jr. of Dresden, John E. (Cindy) Mitchell and Joseph E. (Amy) Mitchell both of Martin; her daughter, Donna (Craig) Hazlewood of Martin, sister, Alleen Sherril of Memphis; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Mitchell formerly worked for Weakley County Hospital, Weakley County Schools as a bus driver, Transportation with the Dresden Senior Citizens and retired from Mitchell Transport. She was a graduate of Martin High School and a member of Jehovah's Witnesses.
