Helen C. (Gregg) Vinaske, age 99, of Hudson, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, in Martin, TN. She was born December 23, 1922, in Richfield, Ohio, to Henry and Clara (Bettinger) Pinkelman. Helen graduated from Metamora High School in 1940 and attended the comptometer school. She was employed as a comptometer operator for Ransom and Randolph in Toledo for several years, until she married Douglas Gregg on September 28, 1946, and the couple moved to Hudson. Douglas passed away in 1978, and Helen took a job as the secretary of Spielman's True Value Hardware, retiring in 1985. She married Carl Vinaske on February 4, 1984, at Sacred Heart Church, and they enjoyed 17 years together before Carl's death in 2001.
A member of Sacred Heart Church and the Altar Rosary Society, St. Jude Catholic Church while she lived in Martin, Tennessee, and Helen served as secretary and volunteer, mentoring at Sacred Heart School, as well. She was an active member of the Hudson Senior Center and delivered Meals on Wheels for several years. She enjoyed sewing, dancing, playing cards, as well as keeping up with the latest fashions. Her life was full with the love for her family.
Helen is survived by her children, Orrin (Mary) Gregg, of Blissfield, MI; Charlene (James) LoVette, of Martin, TN; John (Zabrina) Gregg, of Winter Haven, FL; and Melissa (Ric) Proudfoot, of Hudson; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her children, Mary Smith, and Rick Gregg; and her siblings Justin, Germanus, Harold, Robert, Norbert and Eugene Pinkelman, Marcella Fisher, Mary Kovacs, and Lillian Camp.
A Funeral Mass for Helen will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Hudson with Fr. Todd Koenigsknecht as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. at Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Hudson.
