Harold Clifton

Mr. Harold Lloyd Clifton, age 89, died Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Diversicare in Martin, Tennessee.

Funeral service will be Thursday, August 31, 2023; 11:00 A.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Martin with Pastor Amanda Crice officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday beginning at 9:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 at the church.

Pallbearers are Jacob Clifton, Matt Clifton, Josh Clifton, Eli Clifton, Drew Kelly, Corbin Clifton and Cruz Clifton.   

Mr. Clifton is survived by his wife, Dotsie Clark Clifton of Martin; his children, Glenda Clifton, Gloria (Brian) Kelly both of Franklin, TN, Greg (Jan) Clifton of Nashville, Jimmy (Amy) Clifton of Fairview, TN and Chad (Candy) Clifton of Franklin, TN; 11 grandchildren, Kady, Rachael, Jacob, Matt, Josh, Eli, Annie, Drew, Emma, Corbin and Cruz; eight great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Cullen, Gabe, Noah, Dillon, Ashford, Ada Jane and Roman.

He was a retired Butcher after 50 plus years having worked at Big Star,  E.W. James & Sons and Tate's Supermarkets.   He loved sports especially Tennessee football and the Green Bay Packers.  He was passionate about his garden and enjoyed fishing.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lewis Clifton, Jr. and Eva Marie Miller Clifton; one sister, Dorothy Clifton; three brothers, Walter, William and David Clifton.
