Mrs Gwendoline Gardner Alexander, age 99, of 756 Hester Rd, Martin TN, died Wednesday, 06/09/2010, at VanAyer Manor Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be Friday, 06/10/2010, at 2:00 PM at Murphy Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Gardner Cemetery. Visitation will be after 11:00AM Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs Alexander was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church, and was retired from Brown Shoe Co.
Mrs Alexander is survived by a daughter, Brooxie(Billy) Simpson, Martin TN,; two grandsons, Barry(Debbie) Simpson, Jackson TN, Dennis(Tami) Simpson, Martin TN; three great grandchildren, Brent & Lauren Simpson, Kayla & Conner Simpson, and Jeff Regan; and a sister, Cornelia Ortman, Martin TN.
Mrs Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Virgle Alexander; her parents, Claude J. & Cora Nowlin Gardner; a sister, Virginia Louise Hester; and brothers, Claude J. Gardner, James Franklin Gardner, & George Lee Gardner.
