George Wade Pollard

Mr. George Wade Pollard, age 88, of Martin died Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Martin Health Care.

Funeral Service will be Friday, July 31, 2015, Murphy Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with Bro. Jerry Powell officiating. Burial to follow in Stanley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday beginning at 11:00 A.M. until funeral time at 1:00 P.M.

Mr. Pollard is survived by his wife, Irene Russum Pollard of Martin; his sons, Larry W. (Linda) Pollard of Latham, TN and Jerry W. Pollard of Greenville, TN; his daughters, Susie M. Henley of Memphis and Jan Byars of Martin; six step-children; 9 grandchildren, Tori McClain, David M. Byars, Jr., Carla Woodruff, Charles Alan King, Andy Pollard, Jennifer Blankenship, Wayne Pollard, John Pollard, Laura Pollard; 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cordie Pollard and Damon Sansom Pollard; brother, Thurmond Harold Pollard; sisters, Lucille Finch, Ruby Weaver and Martha Grady; his granddaughter, Holli Byars; one step-son, Steve Stevens.

Mr. Pollard owned and operated Pollard Used Cars in Martin. He was a veteran, U.S. Navy.
