Fannie Mae Grissett

Mrs. Fannie Mae Chandler Grissett, age 87, of Martin died Monday, October 24, 2011, at Volunteer Community Hospital.

Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, October 28, 2011, at Murphy Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday beginning at 11:00 AM. A Memorial Service will be held in Oakland Memory Lanes Cemetery in Dolton, Illinois on Monday, October 31, 2011, beginning at 12:00 Noon.

Mrs. Grissett was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Grissett and both parents, Robert L. Chandler and Martha Mitchell Chandler.

Mrs. Grissett is survived by two step-sons, Ernest Grissett, Jr. and James Grissett; nieces and nephews, Marilyn Benford of Martin, Carol Morris and Margaret Burton of Chicago, James Chandler, Jr. and Don Chandler of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Boyd, Homer Chandler and Vera Shanklin of Martin, Beverly Crockett of Paducah, KY, Jeff Chandler of Murfreesboro, TN and Hebert Chandler of Michigan. She is also survived by her Godson, Marceau Mitchell of Chicago.

Mrs. Grissett was a dedicated educator and administrator for over 40 years. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Chicago, IL
