Elige W. Culvahouse

Mr. Elige W. Culvahouse, Jr., age 93, died Friday, January 27, 2017, at Pigeon Forge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Funeral service will be Monday, January 30, 2017, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 P.M. until funeral time at 2:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Culvahouse was preceded in death by his wife; Evelyn Godsey Culvahouse; his parents, Elige W. Culvahouse, Sr. and Sallie Boggess Culvahouse; his brothers, Ralph Culvahouse, James Boggess Culvahouse and Elvin Culvahouse.
Mr. Culvahouse was a retired professor in Agriculture at The University of Tennessee at Martin. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin and a veteran, U.S. Army. He was an avid fisherman and woodworker. After retirement he and his wife, Evelyn, loved to travel.
He is survived by his daughters, Sara (Paul Bay) Culvahouse of Greenback, Tennessee and Connie (Robert) Alewine of Sevierville, Tennessee; three grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren, Lynn (Marshall) Stanger, Carmen (Christian) Walker, Mark (Aliya) Alewine, Alfie Bay (Mitchell) Rowan Justin (Kavita) Bay and Nathan Bay; 10 great-grandchildren, Audrey, Georgia Kate, Charlie and Alex Stanger; Kayla and Ayda Alewine; Austin and Jackson Rowan; Cy and Sujatha Bay.
