Dr. S.K. Airee

Shakti Kumar Airee son of Durga Dass and Devki Devi Airee departed suddenly for his heavenly abode June 23, 2019. He was born in 1934 in Hoshiarpur, Panjab India. He obtained his PhD from Oklahoma State in 1965.

He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Shashi Airee, son Hans (Lori), daughters Anita and Richa, and a town and a university for which he served his whole life: Martin, Tennessee and the University of Tennssee at Martin.

Those who knew him knew his selfless love of family, students, the citizens of Martin, and his home country of India. His subtle sense of humor and deep love and affection towards others will be missed by all.

Dr. Airee was a retired Professor of Chemistry at The University of Tennessee at Martin.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Rita Airee.

Funeral service will be Friday, June 28, 2019, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Friday until funeral time.
