Dr. Sanford M. Truitt, Dds

Dr. Sandy Truitt, age 83, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will Monday, July 1, 2013, 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home.

Dr. Truitt is survived by his wife, Peggy Wood Truitt of Martin; his son, Mark Truitt of Ashland City, TN; two daughters, Teresa (Melvin) Weidner of Buchanan, TN and Kami (Mark) Carson of Pleasantview, TN; one grandson, Cameron Truitt Carson.

Dr. Truitt had a family dental practice in Martin from 1958 until his retirement. He was a graduated of Central High School in Memphis, Tn, and a graduate of The University of Tennessee School of Dentistry. He was a veteran, U.S. Army, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.
