Dr. Huey Claybrook

Dr. Huey P. Claybrook, age 85, died Monday, August 30, 2021, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Funeral service will Friday, September 3, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger S. Oldham officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday at the church beginning at 9:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00.

Pallbearers are Mike Ford, Bill Zarecor, William Ofenheusle, Herman Smith, Ted McIntosh and Terry Hankins.  Honorary Pallbearers are The Coffee Drinkers, Men's Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church and Mark Ford.

Dr. Claybrook is survived by his wife, Nancy Young Claybrook, and his son, Dr. Phillip (Cristin) Claybrook of Bristol, VA; two granddaughters, Caroline and Catherine Claybrook; one sister, Mary Evelyn Cheshier of Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Claybrook was a retired veterinarian.  He owned and operated Weakley County Animal Clinic in Martin for many years.  He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and Auburn University.  He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Claybrook and Bessie Crowley Claybrook;  sister, Katherine Fitzgerald; two brothers, Harry Claybrook and James Claybrook.

In Lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Center or Baptist Children's Home.  The family request that any story or memory of Huey, humorous or serious, be written down and given to the family.  There will be an area set up at the church for anyone wanting to participate.
