Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" McDaniel Yates, age 89, died Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at her residence.
Graveside service will be Saturday, October 6, 2018, 11:30 A.M. in East Side Cemetery with Bro. T. Joe Walker officiating. Visitation will be Saturday beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be C.J. Wilson, Mason Wilson, Tyler Yates, Justin Thompson, Conor Wilson, Drew Lester and Bob Jones.
Mrs. Yates was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Yates; her daughter, Marsha Yates; her son, Larry Leo "Sonny" Yates; parents, William Odus McDaniel and Nellie Dunne McDaniel; sister, Catherine Yates; granddaughter, Crystal Yates.
Mrs. Yates retired from banking having worked at First Federal, Martin Bank and Regions Bank all in Martin. She graduated from Woodland Mills High School and was a member of Martin Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son, Bill (Gail) Yates of Martin; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Tee) Vandeveer, Leigh (Drew) Lester, Michelle (Butch) Key, Tyler Yates and Paige (Justin) Thompson; six great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers memorials made to the American Cancer Society, or Wounded Warrior Project.
