Dorothy Alexander

Mrs. Dorothy Whitehead Alexander, age 96, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Diversicare of Martin.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 18, 2017, 1:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church in Martin with Dr. Mike Sams officiating. Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, March 17, 2017, 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church until funeral time at 1:00.

Mrs. Alexander was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Horace Alexander. She is survived by her daughter, Pattie (Paul) Glass of Martin; her three sons, Larry Alexander, Ronnie (Pat) Alexander and Keith Alexander all of Martin; grandchildren, Paul L. (Jennifer) Glass, III of McKenzie, TN, Patrick A. (Raye) Glass of Knoxville, TN, David J. (Celby) Glass of Franklin, TN, Kyle (Crystal) Alexander, Jason P. (Rebecca) Alexander, Justin K. Alexander all of Martin, Todd C. Alexander of New York, Blake M. Alexander of Nashville, Tracy (Joe) Hill of Union City and Leisa (Kerry) Green of Martin; one brother, Billy (Martha) Whitehead of Tyler, Texas; great-grandchildren, Gus and Maggie Glass, Alexander, Tanner and Porter Glass, Clara and Mollie Glass, Dawson Jernigan, Carson, Kylee, and Oliver Alexander, Rylee Kate and Emilee Ann Alexander, Tyler and Austin Green, Brandon Baker and Brittany Duke.

Mrs. Alexander worked for over 50 years as Office Manager for the family owned business, Weakley County Motors. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob Whitehead and Jettie Hansbro Whitehead; three sisters, Margaret Alexander, Mary Nell Polsgrove and Bobbie Lou Blakemore; two brothers, Franklin Whitehead and James Whitehead.
