She is survived by her son, Lynn Harper of Martin.

Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lynn Harper, Sr.; her parents, Elbert Elton Hodges and Evvie Mae Boyd Hodges; three brothers, Glenn Hodges, Marion Hodges and Kenneth Hodges.

Doris co-owned Harpers Wrecker Service and Harpers Trailer Park in Martin with her son.  She was Church of Christ by faith.

Mrs. Harper's voice was the one you heard when you called for assistance, hearing "Harpers" from her meant help would soon be there.  No matter what time of day, she was ready to listen and get Randy or Lynn on their way.  There were even times she drove one of the trucks to help out too.  She was a friend, adopted mom, and adopted grandmother to too many to count.  She loved having a cup of coffee early in the morning or a diet coke in the middle of the afternoon with friends.  She was a devoted animal lover having fourteen dogs over the years and recently having sixteen birds.  Mrs. Harper was also an avid shopper, she loved finding a good deal anywhere.  She will be missed by family, friends, and the community she so dearly loved, but she is now with the one she loved most, other than Lynn of course, Jerry.
