Dewey D. Taylor

Mr. Dewey D. Taylor, age 85, of Martin died Tuesday, 02/15/2011, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Funeral service will be Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Murphy Funeral Home; 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow in East Side Cemetery in Martin. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at the funeral home; 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Tomlinson Taylor. He is survived by his son, David Taylor of Dyersburg, TN; his daughter, Nan Lamb of Martin; five grandchildren, Christie Stewart of Las Vegas, Jeremy Lamb of Dawsonville, GA, Megan Cheek of Paris, TN, Trent Taylor of Richmond, VA and Scott Taylor of Knoxville, TN.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, Okie Taylor and Kennie Ward Taylor Halliman, and his brother, Harold Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He was a WW II U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.
