Denton M. Bell

Mr. Denton M. Bell, age 88, of Martin, Tennessee passed to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Jackson-Madison General Hospital.

Mr. Bell was a lifelong farmer, past member of the Tennessee National Guard, Weakley County Commissioner, AMPI TN State Director, Weakley County Farm Bureau (Past President), Weakley County CO-OP (Director) and deacon of Public Well Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member. He was a graduate of Martin High School.

Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his son, John Mark Bell; his parents, William Melvin Bell and Ruby Boyte Bell; two brothers, Glenmore (Hazel Davis) Bell and Joseph Dudley (Sue Davis) Bell; one sister, Doris Jean Bell Templeton.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Donoho Bell; sons, James Denton (Christy Stover) Bell and David Donoho (Anita Allen) Bell all of Martin; daughter, Sarah Beth (Keith) Kennedy of Jackson, TN; nine grandchildren, Deena Bell Pittman, Casey Bell, Lanna Bell Hicks, Ginger Kennedy Smith, Dr. Aaron Kennedy, Lindsey Kennedy McRae, Selena Bell Bragg, Julie Bell Smithson and Abigail Colarullo; 19 great-granchildren.

Funeral Service will be Friday, February 16, 2018, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Scott, Bro. Aaron Kennedy, Bro. Barry Capps and Bro. Joe Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Public Well Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 4:00 P.M.- 7:00 P.M., or after 8:00 A.M. Friday with the family arriving to the funeral home at 12:00 Noon.

Pallbearers to serve are Leland Smith, Casey Bell, Russ Bragg, Luke Smithson, Devin Pittman, Scotty Bell, Joe Wortham and John Templeton. Honorary Pallbearers to serve are Stewart McRae, Dave Covington, Billy Burcham, Jerry Crosser, Bill Jackson, Harry Lee Caudle, Bill Stewart, Don Gill and Jerry Morehead.
