David Waterfield

Mr. David Lynn Waterfield, age 62, of Sharon died on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Tennova Voluteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Funeral Service will be Friday, October 21, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Sharon with Rev. Jerry Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Tansil Cemetery in Sharon. Visitation will begin at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 9:00 A.M. Friday at the church two hours prior to service time.

Jimbo Davis, Shaun Abernathy, Paul Bavido, Peter Bavido, Chuck Burlison and Trent Jones will serve as active pallbearers. Mike Brundige, Alvin Webster, Bryan Robinson, Doug Sims, Ricky Seals, Harry Lee Caudle, Keath Turner and John Erwin will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Waterfield is survived by his wife, Susan Wright Waterfield of Sharon; his daughter, Denise (Kenneth) Wright of South Fulton, TN; his son, Jake (Paige) Waterfield of Sharon; his sister, Glenda Cagle; his brother, John (Sharon) Waterfield both of Sharon; his three grandchildren, Gentry Wright, Jaxon Wright and Rhett Waterfield.

Mr. Waterfield was a sixth generation farmer with Waterfield Brothers Farms. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sharon and a 1972 graduate of Westview High School. He served in the Tennessee National Guard from 1971-1980.

He was preceded in death by his parents, U.W. Waterfield and Helen June Williams Waterfield.
