David S. Rogers

Mr. David S. Rogers, age 59, died Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in Martin.

Mr. Rogers' funeral service will be Wednesday, April 14, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Griffin and Rev. John Worrell officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church.

Pallbearers are Jeffrey Bober, Kevin Burke, Jered Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Annie Richardson, Billy Gene Wagster and John Mark Walker.  Honorary Pallbearers are Cody Rogers, Jerry Dean Rogers, Cameron Ellegood, Quinn Ellegood, Steven Ailes, Paul Burke and Derry Stephen Rogers.

David was the Equipment Services Coordinator for the City of Martin.  He was a member of Masonic Lodge #90 and a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Martin.  He surrendered to preach in 1990 and was an avid Gospel Singer and sang with the Redeemers Quartet.  

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Bober Rogers of Martin; his three children, Stephanie (Thomas) Pate of Bradford, Malarie Rogers of Jackson and Sam (Shelby) Rogers of Trenton; five grandchildren, Linnzi Pate, Erin Lou "Turtle" Pate, Thea Rogers, Kenneth Rogers and Payton Bailey; his father, Jerry Rogers; brothers, Derry (Charlotte) Rogers, Donald "Buck" (Kathy) Rogers, John (Kim) Rogers all of Martin and Bobbie (Nancy) Rogers of Trenton.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Linda L. Jones Rogers; his granddaughter, Avett James Pate and his mother and father-in-law, Ken and Barb Bober.
