Mr. David Baker, age 55, from the Mt. Pelia Community died Saturday at his home. Memorial service will be held Friday, August 14, 2009, at Shepherd's Field Church in Martin.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Brewer Baker. He is survived by his sons, Shane Baker of Sharon, TN, Harvey Baker of Union City and Alex Baker of Martin; his mother, Bonnie Thompson of Brodrick AZ; sister, Freida Cousins of Latham; brothers, Harvel Baker of Martin and Robert Baker of Dresden; half brother, Jamie Baker of Linville, KY; half sister, Tracey Davis of Alabama; two grandchildren, Blain Baker and Lainey Baker both of Sharon. He was preceded in death by his father, Monroe Baker; a son, Frankie Baker.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Martin High School. Mr. Baker was a former employee of the City of Martin and a member of Shepherd's Field church.
