Clara Jean Forrester

Mrs. Clara Jean Hogan Forrester, age 87, died Monday at Van Ayer Manor Nursing Home in Martin.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at the Gardner Church of Christ; 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens in Union City, Tennessee. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010, at Murphy Funeral Home; 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

Mrs. Forrester is survived by husband, Mr. Leon L. Forrester of Martin. She is survived by children; Nicky Forrester (Elaine) of Fulton, KY, Danny Forrester (Beth) of Dresden, TN, Clara Hays (David) of Martin, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Floyd Hogan and Clara Beatrice Blanchard Hogan. She is survived by eight grandchildren, Ann Forrester, Elise Hays, David Forrester, Bucky Forrester, Chad Forrester, Keith Forrester, Kent Forrester and Bryan Hays. Eleven great-grandchildren survive.

Mrs. Forrester was a retired educator. She taught school at Union City Elementary and after retirement did substituing for the Martin schools. She graduate from David Lipscomb University and the University of Tennessee at Martin. She graduated from Hornbeak High School.
