Charles R. Rushing

Mr. Charles R. Rushing, 87, died Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Volunteer General Hospital in Martin. He is survived by his wife, Frances Finch Rushing of Martin; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Angie Rushing of Martin; and son, Dick Rushing of Wilmington, N.C.; four grandchildren, Ragan and Reed Rushing; Casey and Scott Rushing. Also, a brother, Bobby G. Rushing of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mr. Rushing was preceded in death by parents, Claude A. Rushing and Lorene Baily Rushing.

Mr. Rushing was a retired truck driver and a member of First Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy WWII veteran.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Murphy Funeral Home; 1:00 P.M., burial to follow in East Side Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Murphy Funeral Home; 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.
