Mr. Charles David Glissen, age 81, of Martin died Saturday, August 22, 2015, at his residence.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 25, 2015, Murphy Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Dr. Mike Sams officiating. Burial will follow in Martin Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, August 24, 2015, from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Mr. Glissen is survived by his wife, Ruth Donaldson Glissen of Martin; his son, Dean (Misty) Glissen of McKenzie, TN; step-children, Debbie (Howard) Anderson, Ralph (Jerri) Donaldson and Roger (Julie) Donaldson all of Martin; two brothers, Leslie (Brendon) Glissen of Memphis and Terry Glissen of Nashville; three sisters, Mary Martin of Memphis, Martha (Charles) Fowler of Brownsville, TN and Margie Brogdon of Ripley, TN; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Howard Anderson, Leslie Davis, Chris Brinkley, Noah Taylor, Mickey Glissen and Josh Glissen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Jefferson Glissen and Okie Marie Conrad Glissen; two brothers, Joe Dean Glissen and John Glissen.
Mr. Glissen was a retired butcher and he was a member of First Baptist Church in Martin. He was a veteran, U.S. Army.
