Carrie Hatchel

Mrs. Carrie Woodrough Hatchel, age 87, of Martin died Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her home.

Funeral service will be Sunday, September 24, 2023, 2:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Bro. Corey Sawyers officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday beginning at 12:00 Noon until service time.

Pallbearers will be  Bradley Hatchel, Chris Hatchel, Jacob Hatchel, Gatlin Hatchel, Matt Benjamin, and Evan Forhetz. 

Mrs. Hatchel was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Billy Joe Hatchel; her son, Gary Hatchel; her parents, Tobe Woodrough and Sallie Laws Woodrough.

Before retirement she and her husband owned and operated the Martin Dairy Queen.  She was a member of the Martin Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Joe (Sherry) Hatchel of Dresden, TN, Michael Allen (Linda) Hatchel and Edward Gwenn Hatchel both of Martin;  eight grandchildren, Wesley, Chris, Bradley (Christy), Jacob (Paige), Lindsey (Matt), Gatlin (Lauren) Carrie Kathyrn (Evan) and Shelby; eight great-grandchildren, Kennith, Kody, Kimberly, Braylen, Asher, Bryce, Drengr and Elle; great great-grandchildren, Laylin, Banks and Annalyse.
