Billy Max Johnson

Mr. Billy Max Johnson, age 87, of Martin died Sunday, August 19, 2018, at West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 22, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Oak Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Cathy Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday, August 21, 2018, from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 10:00 A.M. at the church on Wednesday until service time.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mrs. Jean B. Johnson of Martin; his sons, Dennis (Deborah) Johnson of Knoxville, Roger (Karen) Johnson of Sharon, Mike (Laura) Johnson of Martin and Brent (Stacy) Johnson of Obion, TN; seven grandchildren, Karri (Bryan) Collier, Daniel Johnson, Chris (Jackie) Johnson, Derek (Taylor) Johnson, Max Johnson, Michaela Johnson and Mollie Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Collier, Drew Collier, Claire Johnson and James Johnson.

He was a retired store manager for Vowell & Sons of Martin.  He was a 75 year member of Oak Hill Methodist Church and a 1949 graduate of Martin High School.  Mr. Johnson was a veteran, U.S. Marines.

Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Max Andrew Johnson and Luna B. Davis Johnson; one brother, Harold Johnson; sister, Roeann Johnson; granddaughter, Emily Johnson.
