Mr. Billie Joe High, age 79, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral service will be Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Martin at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow in Cates Cemetery in Martin. Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014, at Murphy Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., or after 9:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church until funeral time at 11:00 A.M.
Mr. High is survived by his wife, Martha Fisher High of Martin; his son, Barry (Tessa) High of Dresden; his daughters, Renaee (Mark) Bennett of Fulton, KY and Senaee (David) Stout of Martin; his brother Donald Ray (Betty) High of Martin; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubern High and Elsie Olive High.
Mr. High retired from High Family Bootery which he owned and operated in Martin. He was a graduate of Martin High School and a veteran, U.S. Army. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Martin.
