Betty Cheeseman

Mrs. Betty Pearl Glasgow Cheeseman, age 87, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin.

Funeral Service will be Sunday, January 11, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Martin at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens near Union City. Visitation will be 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Murphy Funeral Home, or after 1:00 P.M. on Sunday at the church until funeral time at 2:00 P.M.

Mrs. Cheeseman was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dee (Bobby) Cheeseman. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Denise (Dee) and Jim Cannon of Martin; her sisters, Grace Heath of Gleason, TN, Martha (Paul) Kelley of Martin and Susie (Robert) Sims-Gaylord of Dresden, TN; grandchildren, Jo Catherine (Jay) Moss of Raleigh, NC and Jaclyn (Joel) Parker of Apex, NC; great-grandchildren, Morgan and Caitlyn Moss, Cannon, Isaac and Oliver Parker. She is survived by 11 nieces and nephews; 21 great-nieces and nephews; 7 great great-nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Cheeseman formerly worked in administration at Weakley County Municipal Electric System. She was a homemaker. She graduated from Dresden High School and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Martin.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Glasgow and Annie Grubb Glasgow; two brothers, Tommy Glasgow and Stow Glasgow; three sisters, Virginia Walker, Neida Barnett and Lillie Alexander.
