Amie Haygood

Funeral services for Amie Elizabeth Haygood, age 100, will be Wednesday, January 2, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at Murphy Funeral Home with Jonathan Barz officiating.  Burial will follow in East Side Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday beginning at 10:00 A.M. until funeral time.

Mrs. Haygood died December 30, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born in Hickman County Kentucky, December 18, 1918 to the late Tom Doughty and wife Ida Duke Doughty.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, brothers, James, Treal, Ellice, Troy, William and sisters, Lomega and Rosa.  She is survived by her son, Royce (Annie) of Jackson, TN, sister, Ruthie of Chicago, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Haygood worked in Chicago for many years before she and her husband purchased a farm outside of Martin, TN and moved there in 1957.  She was a farm wife for several years helping tend the cattle, a large garden and fruit orchard.  She retired from the Wormser Company in Sharon, Tennessee.
