Visitation will be Sunday, August 10, 2008, at Murphy Funeral Home; 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M.

Survived by wife, Carmen Tilghman Pendergrass of Martin, TN

Preceded in death by wife, Betty Dalkins Pendergrass

Survived by sons, Capt. Russell Pendergrass of Singapore; Alva W. Pendergrass III of Fresno, CA; Hugh Pendergrass of Peachtree City, GA; Mark Pendergrass of Dayton, OH; Doug Pendergrass of Carolina Beach, NC

Survived by step-children: Alan Penn and Renee Childs both of Kenton, TN

Survived by 21 grandchildren

Preceded in death by parents, Alva W. Pendergrass, Sr. and Cora Lee Conway Pendergrass

Col. Pendergrass was retired from the U. S. Army and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He graduated from the University of Georgia and received his master's degree from Boston University. He was a memeber of the Martin Rotary Club.
